Legal document
Caribe Venture Group LLC, trading as PeptiCaribe ("PeptiCaribe", "we", "us", "our"), operates the e-commerce website at pepticaribe.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse the Site, create an account, place an order, or contact us; how we use and protect it; who we share it with; and the choices and rights you have.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any purpose, at any price.
All products offered on this Site are supplied strictly for legitimate in-vitro laboratory and scientific research purposes.
1. Information You Give Us
When you create an account, place an order, or contact us, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Shipping address
- Billing address
- Institution, company, or laboratory name, where you provide it
- Account credentials — your username and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form
- Order and transaction history — products purchased, quantities, order numbers, lot numbers, and order status
- Research-use and age confirmations you give at checkout or on the Site
- The content of messages you send us, including support emails, contact-form submissions, and any photographs or documents you attach to a return or damage claim
- Marketing preferences, including whether you have opted in to email or SMS updates
2. Information Collected Automatically
- IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, and screen settings
- Pages viewed, products viewed, time spent on the Site, and the referring and exit pages
- Approximate location derived from your IP address, at city or region level only
- Cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies — see Section 6
3. Payment Information
Payments are processed exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors. PeptiCaribe does not store, process, or have access to full card numbers, CVV codes, or bank credentials on its own servers. We receive only a payment confirmation, the last four digits of the card, the card brand, and the billing name and address needed to verify and fulfil your order.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To process, verify, and fulfil your orders, and to take payment
- To send order confirmations, shipping notifications, tracking updates, and delivery information
- To handle returns, refunds, exchanges, and damage or loss claims
- To provide customer support and answer your enquiries
- To verify eligibility — confirming that you are at least 21 years old and are purchasing for legitimate research use
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, chargebacks, and misuse of the Site
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site and our product range
- To measure the performance of our advertising and understand how visitors find and use the Site — see Section 5
- To send marketing communications, but only where you have explicitly opted in
- To comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations
5. Advertising and Analytics
We advertise our products on Google and on Meta platforms, and we use analytics tools to understand how the Site performs. To do this we use the following third-party technologies:
| Provider | What it is used for | What is shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Understanding how visitors find and use the Site | Pseudonymous usage data, device and browser data, IP address (truncated where supported) |
| Google Ads — conversion tracking and remarketing | Measuring which ads lead to orders, and showing our ads to people who have visited the Site | Pseudonymous identifiers, pages and products viewed, order value and order ID |
| Google Merchant Center | Listing our products in Google Shopping and free listings | Product data only. No customer personal data is submitted |
| Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram) | Measuring ad performance and showing our ads to relevant audiences | Pseudonymous identifiers, pages and products viewed, order value; contact identifiers are hashed before transmission |
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or to anyone else.
- We do not share your name, email address, phone number, or address with advertising platforms in readable form. Where a contact identifier is used for ad measurement it is cryptographically hashed on our side before it leaves our systems.
- We do not build or share advertising audiences based on health status, medical conditions, or any inference about your body or wellbeing. Our products are research materials and we do not advertise them as anything else.
- We do not use your order history to target you with third-party advertising.
Your choices
- Manage cookies through the cookie banner on the Site or through your browser settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Manage Google ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com.
- Manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
- Use your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal — we honour Global Privacy Control signals where our systems detect them.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use four categories of cookie:
| Category | Purpose | Can you disable it? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Log-in, cart, checkout, security, and fraud prevention | No — the Site will not function without these |
| Functional | Remembering your language and display preferences | Yes |
| Analytics | Understanding how the Site is used so we can improve it | Yes |
| Advertising | Measuring ad performance and showing relevant ads | Yes |
Disabling functional, analytics, or advertising cookies will not prevent you from browsing or placing an order. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will.
7. Who We Share Information With
We share personal information only where it is necessary to run the business, and only with parties who are contractually required to protect it and to use it solely for the purpose we specify:
- Payment processors, to take payment and issue refunds
- Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners, to deliver your order
- Email and SMS platforms, to send transactional messages and, where you have opted in, marketing
- Analytics and advertising providers, as described in Section 5
- IT, hosting, and security providers who operate our infrastructure
- Professional advisers — accountants, auditors, and lawyers — under a duty of confidentiality
- Law enforcement, regulators, or courts, where we are legally required to do so or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our customers, or the public
- An acquirer, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Your information would transfer under equivalent privacy protections and you would be notified
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We have never done so and we do not intend to.
8. Marketing Communications
We send promotional email or SMS only where you have explicitly opted in, at checkout or on account creation. Opting in is never a condition of placing an order.
Transactional messages — order confirmations, shipping notifications, return updates, and security notices — are sent regardless, because they are necessary to fulfil your order.
You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, replying STOP to any SMS, or emailing info@pepticaribe.com.
Standard message and data rates may apply to SMS. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.
9. How Long We Keep Your Information
| Data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | Seven years, to meet US tax and accounting requirements |
| Account details | For as long as your account is open, then deleted or anonymised on request |
| Support and claim correspondence | Three years from the date the matter is closed |
| Marketing contact details | Until you opt out, then suppressed so that we do not contact you again |
| Analytics and advertising data | Up to 26 months, or the provider default where shorter |
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and request a copy
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your personal information — see Section 11
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Opt out of targeted advertising and of any "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising
- Be free from discrimination for exercising any of these rights. We will never refuse service, charge a different price, or reduce service quality because you exercised a privacy right
To exercise any of these rights, email info@pepticaribe.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We respond within 45 days, and within any shorter period required by the law that applies to you. We may need to verify your identity before we act, which we will do using information we already hold — we will not ask you for new sensitive documents.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident you have the rights listed above, including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. PeptiCaribe does not sell personal information and has not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months. You may also designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.
Other US states and international visitors
Residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, and visitors from outside the United States, may have comparable rights. We apply the protections in this policy to everyone regardless of location. Our servers and service providers are located in the United States, so using the Site involves transferring your information to the United States.
11. Deleting Your Account or Your Data
You can ask us to close your account and delete your personal information at any time.
- Email info@pepticaribe.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
- Tell us whether you want your account closed, your personal data deleted, or both.
- We acknowledge within 24–48 business hours and verify that the request came from you.
- We complete the deletion within 30 calendar days and confirm in writing when it is done.
What we must keep: we are legally required to retain order and transaction records for seven years for tax and accounting purposes, and we may retain a minimal suppression record so that we do not contact you again. Everything else — your account profile, saved addresses, marketing preferences, browsing history, and support correspondence — is deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Records we are required to keep are locked down so that they are used only for the legal purpose that requires them.
12. Data Security
- All traffic to and from the Site is encrypted in transit using TLS.
- Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes.
- Access to customer data is restricted to staff who need it to do their job, and is logged.
- We use hardened hosting infrastructure with monitoring, patching, and regular backups.
- No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law, without undue delay.
13. Children and Age Restriction
The Site and our products are intended solely for individuals who are at least 21 years of age and who are purchasing for legitimate laboratory research. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us at info@pepticaribe.com.
14. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites, including carriers, testing laboratories, and payment providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will give notice on the Site or by email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
